On August 30, Seoyon E-hwa’s NE (Ioniq 5) Door Trim was certified by an Environmental Product Declaration. Environmental Product Declaration is an institution that provides to consumers accurate and transparent information regarding the environmental information of a product or service by quantitatively displaying the environmental characteristics of the product or service’s entire process of collecting, producing, transporting, distributing, and disposing of raw materials in order to establish a sustainable consumption and production system. The Ministry of Environment operates the system in general, and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute enacts, revises, certifies, and manages the follow-up of Environmental Product Declarations.
For the certification process for Environmental Product Declarations, the required documents (certification application form, two certification application reports) need to be submitted to the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, where they will be certified after document review and on-site review, and the certification is valid for three years starting from the date it is certified.
NE Door Trim FR LH was first certified, then FR RH and RR LH were certified as derivative products, and then RR RH was certified as the same product as RR LH to calculate a total environmental impact of one, and greenhouse gas emissions for one NE Door Trim were analyzed as 49.3kg CO2-eq. These emissions were certified by third parties and are of great significance as basic data to carry out ESG management and the 2050 Carbon Neutral Strategy of the Republic of Korea.
